I am a self-taught contemporary abstract sculptor.
I do both indoor and outdoor work and my main mediums are wood and concrete. I use coloured oxides in my concrete mix to achieve an earthly appearance to complement the Australian outback.
With the indoor work I fabricate in wood and then coat them in acrylic paint mainly in earthy colours. I also have work cast in bronze, aluminium and stainless steel.
I have been involved in many group shows and have had several one man exhibitions.
I have won several awards and have had commissioned work and I have recently completed a residency in the USA.
I live in West Gippsland, Victoria, Australia where I have a sculpture park and studio. You can view a short you-tube presentation on
Don Barrett Sculpture Park.
